WATER INJECTION CENTER

Setting up the Water Injection Center (WIC) established a footprint to provide comprehensive specialist support for Water Injection Programs in Malaysia

WI Performance Analysis

WIC research will focus on materials and operation engineering and water specifications. Operation research will focus on pipeline programs, solids control and asset integrity. Water Specifications research will focus on solids loading, core testing and water quality testing methods. Standardization of WIM design will also be one of the focus

WIC Activities

There are three main activities under the WIC.It's to establish Water Injection Data Analysis Center (WIDAC), to conduct Performance Research focusing on water injection requirements and to develop digital solutions (Apps) relevant for Water Injection performance management, operation and learning.

Water Injection Data Analysis Center (WIDAC)

Initially WIDAC will focus on providing data analytic services for Malaysian Water Injection Programs only. But the long-term plan is to expand WIDAC services to other Operators having WIPs in Middle-East,Africa, South America, etc.

WI Digitalization

Activities include development of advance Apps for water Injection Performance management, mobile Apps like Krystal Plus and Krystal Lite, CloudNotes for technical standards and Cloud-based training. Development work on Krystal AP will be started to exploit 5G infrastructure

Purpose-built for Water Injection (WI), Krystal ensures data quality, simplifies complex visuals, and delivers actionable insights.Developed in Malaysia by experienced WI specialists, Krystal has consistently proven its value—analyzing over 730,000 data points in MPM 2015 (9 WIPs), 284,000 in SWIFT 2018 (5 WIPs), and over 2 million in SWIFT 2020 (11 WIPs). With Krystal, PETRONAS gains true control over WI operations—enabling better decisions, higher recovery, and greater operational value.
